Hi, I'm Somer

For more than 25 years, I've worked across education and community services, where building genuine relationships, earning trust and supporting people have always been at the heart of what I do. Naturally, these values have continued into my real estate career, where I believe strong relationships are an important part of achieving great results for my clients.

When you sell with Somer & Co Property, a portion of the commission from each successful sale and settlement is given back in one of two ways:

1. How much is my home worth?
Your property's value is influenced by its location, condition, features, recent comparable sales and current buyer demand. An appraisal gives you a clearer picture of where your property sits in today's market, based on current evidence rather than guesswork.
2. How long does it usually take to sell a property?
The time it takes to sell varies depending on the property, price, presentation, location and current market conditions. Recent local sales, buyer activity and the current median time on market for your suburb can all provide useful insight. Every property is different, and factors such as presentation and price point can influence how quickly a home sells.
3. What’s the selling process like?
Selling a home involves much more than putting a property online and waiting for a buyer. From preparing and positioning your home, through to pre-marketing, launching the campaign, managing inspections, negotiating offers and working through to settlement, there are many steps along the way. Somer will guide you through each stage, keeping you informed and supported so you know what to expect and never feel like you're navigating it alone.
4. How will you market my home?
Every property is different, which is why Somer & Co Property offers a marketing package that can be tailored to your property's needs, your target buyers and the current market. This can include, but is not limited to, professional photography, videography, floor plans, social media promotion and targeted online advertising on major property portals. The campaign is designed to showcase your property's strengths and reach the right buyers.
5. Do I need to renovate or make improvements before selling?
Not necessarily. Some improvements can make a meaningful difference to buyer appeal, while others may not be worth the time or expense. Somer will walk through the property with you and provide practical advice on where time and money are likely to have the greatest impact - and where it may be better to leave things as they are.
6. What costs are involved when selling my home?
The costs will vary depending on your property and selling strategy. They can include agent commission, marketing, conveyancing or solicitor fees, the seller disclosure statement (Form 2), and other costs associated with preparing and selling your property. As part of the selling process, identity verification and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks are also legal requirements. Somer will provide a clear breakdown of the expected costs upfront, so you understand what you're committing to and can plan accordingly.
7. Will I deal directly with Somer?
Yes. When you choose Somer & Co Property, Somer will be your primary point of contact throughout your selling journey.
